Jack plate compatibility on early ’90s SST

I just picked up a '92 Crestliner SST with a Yamaha outboard, and I've noticed it sits pretty low, which results in a lot of spray when I hit full throttle. I'm still learning the ropes of boating and I'm thinking about getting a manual jack plate to lift the motor, since the way it's currently mounted doesn't let me raise it any higher. Has anyone ever installed one on an SST transom without running into problems?

I've done a manual jack plate on a similar Crestliner, it works pretty well, just make sure you get one rated for your weight
